I believe any US citizen has the right to try and fix anything they see as wrong . But disrespecting the national anthem is just stupid . You are immediately turning off a large part of society that " might " agree with your cause .
If you want to fight for equality/equal pay/gay rights/environment or anything else that's important to you do it through proper channels . Get organized . Sign petitions . Have meetings with government officials .
And guess what . You don't always win or get everything you want . It's called life . As a US citizen I wish the team well but I will not watch . I would be a hypocrite if I did .
If you disrespect the national anthem or police or the military just as examples you have turned me off . That may or may not mean anything . But it means something to me .
