Update: Bought a new battery, fabricated a new battery tray
as well to fit the larger battery. New cables being made, will be here Thursday. Cleaned surface rust off cab floor, used a rust encapsulator, painted the floor with rust oleum oil based paint. Will insulate and soundproof the cab next. Cleaned, and repainted a couple rims, polished the chrome and repainted a single red stripe on the s.s. beauty rings. Once I get the new battery cables installed, I’ll change the oil and filter and see if I can get the old y block up and running. I need to order a bunch of small parts like hood bumpers, hood seal and some other stuff. I’m kinda hoping the engine will start and run so I can determine what to do with it going forward.
