I suspect the final chapter is not fully written. Humans are pretty resilient and doom and gloom is cyclical. With all of the nuclear weapons, the fact that we are still here is amazing in and of itself. Civilization has existed for only 6000 years since the evolution of humans. The industrial age really only in the past 200 years. Compare the technology, medical capability and trajectory of technology from when your parents were born until now. I suspect when our grandkids are our age the technology will be hard to distinguish from magic. Did you see the difference in the air quality change during the pandemic? I think the next 20 years is going to be amazing as battery technology explodes (hopefully not literally). The planet has been through countless mini ice ages, and hot periods, this will not be the last. Heck SAT here it was 107 + with heat index, SUN it was 20 degrees cooler and pleasant. I am an optimist. It is in the interest of the politicians and media to create crisis at every turn to be relevant. We will be fine.
