Sounds like you did good. Make the best of it. Make them feel special. Treat them right.

Along those lines - I'll share a story- Neighbor across the street's wife died (this 25 years ago). He came over- pale and shaking. He wanted to give me his house. He was a mess, I thanked him for the offer, and told him we should talk when it was a better time. I think I even hugged him.
Evidently- he
was a mess. He went home and shot himself dead. I "thought" I was doing the right thing by not greedingly taking his house. I didn't realize how thin he was stretched. God- If only I could replay that one moment, I would. Hindsight 20/20. I only share this to shout out- help x 10000000. ask questions later.
