I can't ditch covid fat. I have an eating disorder.
Here's the story. I am about 20 lbs over.
Lock down started, kids wanted pizza. Phone in, guys tells me, for 5 bucks, you get another. Oh, why the heck not. I ended up eating it all since those people can't finish it. For the first two years, it was fine and I was out riding a lot and kept the weight controlled and was not over eating. The last two years, I completely over ate and we were hell bent on supporting all of out local food places. We would seek out south east Asian foods and drive crazy distances just to try. We were bored to hell locked up going to school on the computer screen. Felt bad for my kids having to do that. My kids and I discovered our liking to saucy food with strong spices (not hot) while my wife has a pretty typical blend taste.
Here's how I gain the freaking fat. Once things opened up, we started to go out to these restaurants, tried everything, asking the waiting staff and order based on recommendations. Damn, we just had Malaysian/Singapore food. That curry is to die for. On Monday, we drove an hour to have Burmese food.
Stopped riding but back to one day a week about a two years ago. Work got crazy busy. I noticed my tee shirts had shrunk little by little from sitting in my drawers. Freaking cheap shirts, I tell ya. About 3 months ago, I tore my PCL and meniscus on my right leg. No more riding so I just sit and or course eat more. I can't stop. Sad things is, I normally don't over eat like that. I feel bad but I ate at Cesear's Palaces buffet last Thursday when I was in Vegas. You know I gotta get my money's worth. It was 65 bucks
I need a 12 step program to get me off this. I have no back bone and snack often now. I do not do sweets and junk food just loads of pasta, potato, bread, rice and such. I am addicted to carbs. Starting tomorrow, I have to cut my portions back to normal. Hoping to get back to myself by Thanksgiving. Last time I lost 15 lbs was easy. It took little over a month by cutting down half my carb and food intake. I just can't seem to do it now. Any tips?
