It's a big problem where I live. The newer cars use soy based wiring harnesses and rodents love it. My wife's Tesla has gotten hit twice 2500 bucks each time. Luckily covered by the insurance. The second time we gave the service center some special covering to wrap the harness with. So far so good. My Volvo parks right next to it and although I see signs of rodents in the engine bay, they don't seem to be interested in the wiring.

They also chewed thru the air lines on my motorhome. Big PITA.
