Pet Peeve with the new Hypercars is the hocus-pocus don't look behind the curtain 'energy' refilling during pit stops. They put the fuel in, which takes a few seconds, and they tell us ... "we're just waiting on the 'energy' now"

There is no energy being added to the cars. There is no battery being charged. There's nothing. The cars are hybrids and generate energy while they're running. They track the electric power used and there's some complicated formula related to that and the hold in the pits. They even keep the fuel hose attached after the fuel is in to further the illusion. They want to give the illusion that the cars are being charged like the EVs we'll all be forced to drive soon. I get it. IMSA has to keep the manufacturers happy.
