Fuel Pump install - acceptable way to slice a pie
Problem: 76 was converted to carbs. OG FP was removed and a inline filter was put in. Banjo compression fitting gone. I want to convert back to FI. Now, I guess the correct way to fix this is get a new fuel line to go from the front to the back with the new banjo on it, BUT I am wondering if I can resolve this another way.
Solution: Some time ago I acquired a SC/later fuel pump and use it on my bench to test run engines. This FP has a banjo fitting that has a port to allow me to hook regular fuel line to it and clamp it down. It has not leaked while having it years on the bench so....can I just run this as is? I feel like this is an acceptable way to fix a factory compression banjo failing.
Sorry if this has already been answered 10 million times, search did not uncover anything in the first two pages accept for someone having to dremmel cut a banjo bolt.
