From just before 6am this morning (Sunday). Steady drizzle and a few light rain showers - we live up against the foothills of Mt San Antonio in an LA suburb.

Highest winds forecast are 20mph. We get warm Santa Ana winds that gust up to 80 mph, so not too concerned. 1/3” of rain for 7 hours beginning around 3pm, that oughta be interesting…

Tangential:
I spent most of the year planning and two months building a new retaining walls, new driveway and a crap ton of drains. Didn’t think I would be able to test them for several more months so I’m actually looking forward to some rain lol

There’s a 12” channel drain up at the gate.

In the center of the concrete tiles is an 18” X18” surface drain, and both an 8” primary drain pipe and a 6” backup/overflow pipe to carry away the water. And if all else fails the top-of-concrete will still flow around the house. Crossing my fingers and hoping my calcs were correct!
