From what I have seen on MSM the 'hurricane' that missed San Diego entirely (was the primary target early) did cause some damage and flooding further North East of CA and some localized parts of SoCal. We got 1.5" of rain and zero wind beyond 15 mph. My friends had a party with neighbors and BBQ on their street. All quiet. Meanwhile other neighbors were panic buying staples and formed huge lines in local grocery stores. My daughter who was picking up some bread and shampoo was witness.
Again, as others have stated the forecast models are way off and that is what the idiots on local and national news rely on. I watched a Fox 5 News local broadcast yesterday and a female reporter in the streets of Ojai said she was in a torrential rain storm and yet there was no rain falling. Her rain jacket was wet but zero rain falling. Sure it was falling earlier but nothing torrential. Then they pivoted to a 'major' earthquake but video showed 2-3 seconds of shaking and then over. Apparently the younger generation does not understand what a real earthquake is. Grew up in SoCal since the early 60's and a couple stand out. I was in Japan for the big one in 2011 that set the new high bar. A 5.1 in SoCal is routine.
I am so disgusted in the so called news these days. And politics but will keep that out of this thread.
