My 3/4 ton ram pickup truck, a real work horse with a V10, needed 32 new lug nuts for some used snow tires on factory rims for this winter.
I picked up 4 snow tires and factory rims for cheap off Craigslist. I presently run aftermarket custom rims and can't re-use those nuts.
Checked on Amazon, Les Schwab, and then called the dealer.
Dealer wants $18.25 PER LUG NUT............yes almost $20 each.
$576 for 32 of them................f me sideways and call me Nancy. I literally asked the parts guy if I get a happy ending finish for that price........oh he laughed hard.
so $650 with tax out the door. yeah right
found a box of 10 of them on Ebay for $21, so I bought 4 boxes worth for a grand total of $85.
Don't even get me started on dealer factory hub caps., they're $250 EACH. Ebay has a aftermarket set for $85.
And we wonder why/how dealerships complain that they aren't getting enough parts sales traffic........
