Here in Metropolis we eat from the garden when we can, and what we don't grow we get from local farms.

Except for the lamb chops from Costco. Just get them up to room temperature, salt and pepper, and cook for 12 minutes or so.

The corn came from a local farm-nothing to do there but heat some water.

The zucchini is sliced into coins and fried in a hot pan till blistered. Be generous with the oil. Remove the zucchini and add garlic and halved Sungold tomatoes and cook for another minute or two. Parmesan is nice with this, but not necessary; fresh basil is good too.

The salad is frisee, grown from seeds, inspired by France, with a pear and some toasted walnuts, and a Roquefort (purchased from the local hippie co-op) viniagrette.

Just a regular dinner at our house.
