Hey Bill......in a proper spacing......the spray radius of each head should reach the head(s) of every other adjacent head.
In other words....the streams of water should overlap each other.
That is because of the trajectory of the water stream...to ensure proper coverage overlap is needed.
So maybe your system is adjusted right.
In any event - your contractor can help you with any questions you have. If it's a brand new system he'd probably not mind coming by just to double check his own work. In a perfect world.....
