Er, sorry to be snarky heh heh.

Sounds like a new case might do it without any further info or pics. Should be a board with switches under the case buttons, a key pivot and release, and a spring inside. A little WD40 and very thin filler material (Al foil strip?) might seat the plastic clam shell screws a bit better if they are stripped and getting loose. Go easy with that plastic. With locks I try to tighten/lube/work it back and forth slowly to find the problem. The new ones are pricey but it's good to have an extra just because.
