you have the "its not environmental" which is like ... no one claimed it ever would be. its about burning and consuming art ... thats not particularly ecologically focused.
you have the "its just rich white people doing rich white people things" and that is and always has been 100% true. its just not only that.
a new one im seeing from the left is "burning man is privileged, its not egalitarian as it purports to be" and of course this is correct too. not everyone can afford to go, have the vacation needed, etc etc.
burning is a bit of a rorschach test. you see what you want to see. and you do what you want to do. and you take from it what you put into it.
i do recommend everyone try it though.
