Same thing happened here, but instead of removiing them, they changed the timing of the lights back to normal and refunded a few years of red light tickets.
If I had gotten one, I would definitely have sued them
I have heard that if you put wire wheel cleaner on the bolts securing the red light camera to the ground, it will fall over before too long
