My guess is you'd have been better off taking it to a "reputable" (as much as possible) body place vs the dealer.
Probably about 2002, I took my old 911 to one of the Porsche dealers in town to get the windshield replaced, because I called a dozen places and no one had a windshield. The dealer told me that they had a glass place do it. I guess I called the wrong place. The glass place was late getting it done, and scratched the paint on my car in the process (picked it up at night and didn't notice until a week later). There's a reason they call them stealerships. Unless you've got a warranty so you don't have to pay, I'd avoid them like the plague.
