Yeah, the PO was a nice guy but I'm very glad he took the bike to a Ducati Indy for important repairs and belts and such.
good idea and if even a hint of heat on the socket I'd get the Dorman H4/9003 ceramic sockets at any local parts store. Nice piece of mind.
