Todays handyman project - hang a pocket door in a metal Rocket Pocket Door metal frame. Cannot shoot finish nails into the metal door frame so I used construction adhesive to install the split jambs. Locktite PL375 adhesive has a 48 hour cure time and does not expand so the jambs will remain flush with the door edge in the open position. Used blocking with pin nails to hold jambs flush and maintain uniform gaps while the adhesive cures. First pocket door install for me and I'm calling it a win!
In this pic the door with attached split jambs is pulled away from the frame while construction adhesive is applied to the metal frame. The the door is thenl opened fully while the flush jambs are pressed into the adhesive (i.e. wet set like tile installation)
