Yes, I could have gotten my engine stand down from my attic to do this. If it had turned out that I needed to rebuild the transmission after inspecting it, then I would have done that.

Yeah...I applied about 75 lb force on a long torque wrench while holding the reverse gear in place. I suppose that would not be possible if I need to see a readout but mine is a type that clicks once its torque setting is reached.
