Progress.
Buying a used engine can be a crap shoot.
This engine showed up covered in oil and grime. The area that was under the bell housing is how most of the engine looked when I picked it up at the freight terminal.
I bought it from a reputable seller and he said it was a running engine so I will take his word for it. He never said it was a clean, running engine.
I am not disparaging the seller, he sent me exactly what we discussed. It's condition is fitting with the mileage it has.
Two extensive power washes and a lot of time with a brass brush and it looks half way presentable.
Going a bit overboard dressing it up. These were parts I was collecting/creating for the turbo engine I will be putting in it in the future.
The one thing that bums me out is that no one will see my uber-fancy bolts when the engine is in the car.
Now I have to get it all back together and I hope to have it in the car by end-of-day Saturday.
