Needs adjustment either the length of the lid “pin”, screw up or down to adjust. Or there’s a cable adjustment screw under the catch.
Make very, very minor adjustments on either of their two (not both) until it latches so it will release properly and not jam shut and refuse to open.
The cable tends to stretch more so than the “pin” on the lid - but it might or could be loose. So check first.
Don’t drive with an unlocked lid ! It will bounce over bumps and could damage or rattle something else loose !
