Generational nomenclature by TV series.
Tonight, as the family went to dinner, we discussed generational labels.
Baby Boomers. Gen X Gen Y Gen Z. etc....
After about 30 seconds of trying to explain this to our kid, I became frustrated. Not because she couldn't understand Baby Boomers, but, because I can't keep track of what I am (or any subsequent generation). People are just making s$% up.
From here on out, I identify by TV series.
Henceforth:
I am Dukes of Hazzard. Older people hated it (well- it was cheesy). The evil "flag" on general lee makes it too dicey for today's folks. I loved it. Dukes therefore encapsulates a specific moment in TV history that describes me.
I am generation Dukes of Hazzard.
edit- as much as I'd like to mention "Little House, Waltons, Bewitched, MASH, Star Trek" etc- these shows appeal to earlier generations, therefore they are out.
edit- I will also begrudgingly respond to "Battlestar Galactica" - that would work.
