As mentioned above, go see a retina specialist. I had a significant floater in my right eye. The optometrist told me it may go away or not- part of aging.

Well... about 1 year later I went completely blind in my right eye while sitting at a car show talking with friends. Kind of scary. Went to the retina specialist and I had suffered a completely detached retina. Emergency surgery, 2.5 hours with a team of 4, 1 month and 1 day ago, and I have vision in that eye now but it is still like looking through really thick glass. I go back in 5 months for a second surgery and hopefully that restores more of my vision in that eye. They filled my eye with oil and they said they will change that out during the next surgery. It's not easy getting old.
