Attended a PCA HPDC yesterday at Summit Point. First time taking the 3.2 on a track. Was a good time however, I was the only air-cooled in the clinic but it was fun nonetheless--had a great instructor that was very knowledgable about aircooleds so that was nice.
The skidpad was crazy fun as expected...
Tracking the 3.2 was pretty intense, stressful, and exhilarating. During the second group's 1st session run, there was unfortunately a wreck involving two Caymans, luckily none of the four occupants were seriously injured but they were all taken to the local hospital to be checked out. What I heard was one of the caymans lost his brakes and t-boned the other at one of the curves.
It definitely put a somber note on the rest of day and seeing the wrecked cars being towed out put into clear focus how there is not much room for error on the track and, more importantly, the risks and trust that the instructors put with the drivers in an effort to teach them to be better drivers with their cars.
But learned a lot and it was good to get some track time in the Carrera.
