Hmmm, no, actually.
The last air-cooled engine I completely rebuilt was from my 930, in 2014. With machine work (including twin plugs), full efi, new turbo, headers, SC tensioners, etc, etc, etc ... the total was well under $20K at that time. I guess I figured even considering what (insert PARF comment here) has done to cause inflation, that a n/a engine would still be south of what the turbo engine cost me.
Perhaps I should have studied up a bit before posting.
