It was really cool to eat at the "The old pink house restaurant" that is from 1771. So it predates the founding of the USA and the declaration of Independence.
The Pirate's House is the oldest building in the state. somewhere around 100 years older than pink house. Pink house has better food though.

Most of the really old stuff in town has been extensively renovated. Mine is just a little cottage on the edge of downtown. Started life as an African Baptist Church for the lumber mill workers. not quite 800 sq ft.
The people I bought it from did a decent remodel. They ripped out the walls and insulated things, had spray in insulation done underneath, and had Pella double hung and double pane windows installed. My AC is two mini splits and they handle it without a problem. One is in the bedroom and I kept the bedroom at 75 during the day for the dog and 70 at night all summer. Didn't have a power bill over $100.
