Car feels perfect right now. All of the sloppiness is gone from the shifter: it’s still a 915 with a notchy 2nd gear, but it’s just so much more precise. The confidence gap between it and my 993 in the twisties is effectively gone, with the bonus of the SC being about 500 lbs lighter.

I installed the Numeric shifter about two months ago in my '81 SC and wow, what a difference. Couldn't recommend it more. Did you go with the 2.5mm spring?
I couldn't get the reverse lockout placed correctly but haven't had a problem due to the stiffer spring.
