Hoarding and the hoarding hoarders who hoard boards
Yeah, this is a problem with wood butchers. I can hardly leave any workable piece of wood in the alley tossed by others. I mean I keep a couple drawers full of just sticks for propping up something, use as clamping cauls or maybe s little fill in on some project.
Got a rack for dimensional lumber and a crate for shorts. I have a pile of large chunks that used to end under cars as cribbing. I mean 6 x 10's and 12's. I have an anvil sitting on an upright glue lam. That thing must be 8 x 14.
Then there's the plywood.
Helps to have all kinds of different species and figuring too.
You can't have too much wood, can you?
