Speaking of bike batteries...I have the Garmin Varia which has a rechargeable battery that is non-replaceable. I plug it in at my garage after each use.
One day this past spring, I noticed a burnt smell when entering the garage. The Varia was melted and was welded to the micro usb cable. Now I'm careful of never having any burnables close by. Garmin replaced it even though it was well past warranty.
