I understand many returning from Vietnam feel their country abandoned them. For a moment, it probably did. But now I implore you to reevaluate your perception. It doesn't match today's America. 'Nam is over. Leave it behind. Allow us to honor you. Thank you for your service.

A nice post. One small correction… women make up roughly 10% of veterans, not 62%! There are many wonderful women serving our country right now, including some of our very own here on Pelican. My niece is one of them (NROTC out of VT).
