Exactly right. I'm not sure they (auto makers) have done this on purpose. They find themselves here. Maybe they are happy about it or not I don't know. There does seem to be evidence that EVs can be owned and operated for many years/miles with not much maintenance. At some point the consumer just can't afford a complex ICE vehicle when an EV at about the same price or less will be available. I'm feel I have to vote in favor of the EV over the long term just because of the fraction of moving parts compared to ICE.
