I have a 2000 FS in the FS section 63,000 miles, well maintained, also 2 owners, but we are 21 years as the 2nd owner. As you say, no stories. Similar price.

I'm having discussions about the IMS with a couple of shops and the price is right there for the clutch and IMS job.

My conclusion is I won't spend the money I won't get back. I have to wholeheartedly agree with those that said find another buyer. Problem with me is I don't even have any interest so negotiation is not an issue.

I will tell you there are a lot of Boxsters for sale, 2000 and on a couple more years newer that are not really appealing due to high mileage, shabby condition, too many mods, etc. And these cars are cheap. So they are dragging down the market for really nice cars like you and I have.

If you have to sell, then you will have to find that buyer soon or acquiesce to the interested party some. A bird in the hand....

Me, I don't care. I can keep it on the market until next summer. It only costs some insurance to have around and not be used much, if at all. So by next year I will be more firm than ever or even raise the price.

Myth or not, buyers that are aware are convinced that no IMS, they aren't in.
