A few years back before my brother retired, he drove his 1954 VW Bug to work every day. One rainy day he left the lights on after he got to work. There is no warning buzzer of course. After a full day of sitting in the parking lot, the battery was 100% dead. He saw to 20 something fellow employees walking out. He waved for them to come over. He asked them to give him a push, and they laughed and said something like we ain't gonna push you home. He explained, just get me rolling, and it will start.
They gave him a push start, and they were stunned it was even possible to push start a car. Of course they both drove modern appliance cars with automatic transmissions and computer controlled fuel injection requiring voltage, so it seems like magic to them.
