I have a friend that is a cotton farmer in West Texas, he just bought two new Tundras and loves the Twin Turbo V6. He was a domestic pick-up truck owner before switching to Toyota.
He bought the TRD Pro (430-hp) as his personal truck for $70ish and the base model Tundra as a farm truck. He gets 18-mpg.
Like you, I've had a barrage of issue with old cars lately, the icing on the cake was recently getting stuck in a Hospital parking garage, I had to Uber home and then go back late in the day with my wife driving me where I proceeded to repair my car in the Hospital parking garage...so annoying
As a result, I'm in the market for a new(er) SUV, I am looking at the Lexus LX600 SUV but there is a 2-year wait and any models that are currently available are viciously marked-up..$30k! So, considering a gently used LX570 with the good old lazy thirsty V8.
