I think powder coating black will lessen the lake bed racer look. Maybe padding where your butt sits, shoulder and hip/thigh bolsters, and along the spine up to a widened head pad while leaving the rest uncovered would look nice.
Stefan at GTS has deconstructed his seats leaving padding in specific areas for a similar look. I believe he did it with the Vallelunga.
