Tried the first two episodes of Lesson in Chemistry on Apple+ and, um, as the US Supreme Court has ruled, okay to obtain by other means if for personal, non-commercial use cough...

It was a best selling novel, and I'd read the show was quite high in production values, with an excellent performance by Brie Lawson as a young chemist working in a 1950's lab as the only female, trying to prove she can do as well as everyone else.

Eventually, she rises about it all and becomes a popular host of a TV cooking show later. As expected, lots of sexism, given the time period, and had a Mad Men level of detail/vibe/production values , so highly accurate to say the least.

That said, both the first two episodes had flashback to when she was (potentially) sexually assaulted and a couple more similar situations in the real-time segments. Really bummed to see that, and I'm sure they won't be the last. I might give it a few more tires, and Brie does a great job acting, but if the violence (even implied) continues, I'm out.
