Hey guys,

She is doing good. Kinda sucks being away so long for work but I gots to pay da bills [emoji38] Mrs Bugs is still in AZ but I’m concerned that it will add a certain level of chaos when she returns, it’s kinda just the way it rolls.

We are making progress every day, might be baby steps but still moving in the right direction. I try to play to her moods and when she indicates she has had enough touchy touchy, I back off. Today before work, I was scratching her head and neck when she kinda did a meow/purr combo and then picked her hind legs up raising her tail to a vertical position while doing slight air biscuits. The she realized she wanted no more and hissed, swatted at me then walked into the pet carrier.

Since I obviously irritated her a little, I took the time to gently pick her up and medicated her eye. I’m sure she will get over that [emoji2371]…

I am paying attention to her body language as well. She normally sits in what I call “the hover cat” position and this morning, I noticed a couple more relaxed positions I haven’t seen before.

I conciser this a slightly more relaxed body position, but then again I am just going by my observations since I am no cat behavioralist either.

When I rolled at 0400 hrs Tuesday morning, I was greeted by her at the barrier, so I kinda was happy to see that. Then again, it could be because she is use to me feeding her when I get home. I did give her a big fatty can of special RX wet food before leaving this afternoon, so I will see if she repeats the greeting.

I’m rolling by the seat of my pants with this so we will see if it is a success or failure. I did recently see a rescuer that uses a wooded spoon to pet feral cats to get them accustom to touches, I could always see if that would help accustom her to being touched on her back and provide a safety buffer for her danger mittens. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the vet did a chip scan and nothing was picked up on the code reader. Just in case anyone was wondering.

Cheers
