A few weeks ago, I returned the unused land line telephone to my cable provider, and negotiated a lower bill. The billing month on the old plan passed and I checked my new plan prices and it was $40 higher than before, and my internet speed was cut in half from 1Gig to 500 MB download and from 40 Mbps upload to 10.
That did not make me happy. So I contacted their customer retention department. I have been with them over 30 years, and my bill is paid automatically, electronically.
They decided that since I was a tad upset at the price and performance changes that maybe they can indeed put the internet speed back to what it was, and lower my bill to an acceptable level, or $60 a month less. Bingo.
The speed went back up and the price is down. Win Win for me. Eff them.
