Really, the Renntech video is way over the top for this situation.
Firstly, you need to remove the outer rocker cover to really tell what kind of damage you actually have.
So, take the screws out of the black end caps, and literally pull the black rubber out of the channel to reveal the additional philips head screws to be removed. Then go underneath the rockers and remove the screws that hold it to the lower portion, there should be some white plastic spacer that will drop-out.. nothing to be alarmed about.
Now you should be able to see the extent of the damage which I believe may be pulled-out with a stud gun.
