Yeah, as I recall we ran them rich but we were just kids and basically making it up as we went along. The guy at the kart shop advised us but out on the track we were on our own, my dad was our transportation but he was a chemical industry guy and wasn't ready to advise on 2 cycle operations. He was in charge though and when we burned the motors (we knew it was over when there was no resistance when pushing the kart, the engines had no compression to resist, if that makes any sense to you) we took the kart and traded it in on a Yamaha 250 (a whole new story!)..
