Anyway... think of the Cybertruck as rolling R&D concept car. In Tesla terms, they built the roadster to pave the way for future cars. I'm thinking this will be the same. Customers offset R&D costs. Think of it like the Porsche 959 leading the way for all-wheel drive 911 cars that came later. Few 959 owners raced or rallied their cars. Cybertrucks likely won't outnumber F-150s at the construction site, but that's OK.
The link between Tesla and SpaceX is interesting. Lessons of Cybertruck production may help SpaceX to ramp up larger scale rocket production. There's a lot of engineering in the stainless steel alone.
I spent some time looking at one on Tuesday. It reminds me more of a Humvee/LM002 than an F-150 or Silverado. Think one of the Youtube reviews made a similar point.
Whether you like it or not, you have to respect efforts that break the mold. Will be interesting to watch...
