I am seeking your help for assisting my daughter.
My daughter has leukemia that was discovered three years ago. Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. Not the worst you can have as those begin with "Acute". However, the disease generates a huge amount of white blood cells and many/most are mutated. It was discovered because she was bruising too easily.
She has weathered several different medications. They work for a while then they are not effective. Doctors said a bone marrow transplant is required. This will eliminate the disease if all goes well.
She started chemotherapy last Monday. The stem cell introduction business begins in the morning and I don't fully understand that as chemotherapy lasts for a good while longer.
That said, she is off of work for up to a year. She has to rent a "sealed off" germ free home in Kansas City near the hospital and carry her home in Joplin, Missouri. The rental home is at least partially paid for by insurance after she first fronts six months rent (thanks Bob K senior). She will have a 100% caretaker at the KC home. She will have COBRA payments after three months and many other uncovered expenses.
I simply do not have the funds to assist from cash flow save a couple/few hundred dollars per month. Humbling to say but it's the truth. I have my totaled 911 that Cab and I are starting to fiddle with but I will sell that as a last resort. The rest is just stuff.
