NEVER go over redline.....and if you are driving the original engine, it might be a good idea to be conservative.
And be careful downshifting, if you aren't at the right revs in the higher gear you can drive the engine over redline mechanically, which is just as bad as doing it with the throttle!
And don't miss the 3-4 shift by going 3-2...Ooops! $$$$
