Possum sure fooled my dogs a couple of times recently. I open the sliding glass door at night and Zora goes flying outside like she was shot out of a cannon. I knew something was wrong, went outside, and found her clamped onto the neck of a possum. I called her off and she let go immediately, losing interest in it. Same with the little dogs. If she thought it was alive, it would have been game on. A couple of nights later, same thing, except she was just standing near it. It's a pretty good defense strategy.
