4 years ago I took a step toward retirement and started a part time job at a small private school.
25 hours per week most of the time. Summers are very "flexible". I'm off now until after the new year. I will stop at the building periodically to make sure everything is in order. I'm officially the business manager - accounting, tuition management, payroll, etc. Unofficially I'm the guy who they call when a kid pukes in the hall, a toilet is clogged, the heat is on the fritz, etc. I love it and the flexibility. I've got another 4+ years until I fully retire.
Just back from a long weekend visiting kids/grandkids who live on the other side of the state for early christmas and birthday celebrations. My middle grandkid turned 4 on Sunday. He's the one farting on Dad's head.
Merry Christmas!
