That's cool because UVB generates Vit D in the skin. So, if you're outside enough in the summer you'll get some Vit D from the sun.
As someone who worked in consumer healthcare I can say that unless you're suffering from a specific deficiency or have a chronic condition then the typical OTC multi-vitamin is not helpful.
The makers put things like 500% RDA on the label because 1) it's factual and 2) people think more is better.
