The two shafts of the link have grooves on their outer ends. That indicates some type of master link clip is used. If it was a staked or peened link, it would not have those grooves. All the master links I have seen on other applications use the ubiquitous clip that you see on motorcycle chains. Maybe Porsche did something different, but I doubt it.
