The redneck solution is to get under the car and figure out how to block access to that tasty wiring insulation with 1/4" "rabbit wire"mesh or similar. Then of course the next issue becomes future work, etc. I can see a future dealership visit "oh that extra $100 labor is from the hour we spent undoing a ton of wire mesh under there - looks like you ran over a rabbit hutch or something"
