Was in the basement of the rental today and noticed a continuous high sputtering sound.
The furnace dehumidifier pump wasn't shutting off. Just had it inspected. "Okay the float is stuck I'll jiggle it free".
Nope.
But moving the float did shut off the motor....when it was raised.
(That's the opposite of what's supposed to occur. How the heck did that happen?)
I didn't bother taking it apart and the local store was out of them. An extra hour drive but got er done.
